Doula & Placenta Service Provider
The births of my own children inspired me to want to support and share with other parents, the amazingness that is, "The Birth Journey". It wasn't until I began being called to friend's births to simply hold their hand and/or space, that I realized that this is possiby more than an opportunity to be a good friend with my own experiences, but an actual calling to assist birthing parents and their families along their own paths.
I've been with the Hudson River Doulas since the origin in 2013. My expertise lies in placenta encapsulation, baby wearing, cloth diapering, breastfeeding support/troubleshooting, being a doula to the birth partner as well and post partum support.
My strengths lay in a combination of my background as an occupational therapy assistant (COTA), my education in Communications (both spoken and non-verbal) and Religious studies as well as being a holistic parent. I use my COTA background to help moms understand the development of their newborns and young children as well as my attachement parenting skills to foster bonding between mom and baby.
I'm also a former Soprano I who performed at Carnegie Hall and The Met and have been known to breathe or sing along with birthing parents during their transition time.
Suzie is a friendly, humorous mom in Newburgh, NY to her 3 kids who are homeschooled. She has special skills in placenta encapsulation, comfort measures & rebozo work. Suzie provides a generous portion of our birth doula support and is fantastic with breastfeeding support.
RN, HCHI, HCHD, Doula & Childbirth Educator
The experience of becoming a mother taught me more about the birth process than the 20 years of experience as an RN ever has. My first birth was full of interventions, lasting almost 40 hours of labor. I was appreciative of the knowledge I had in order to make all of my birth choices and knew that knowledge was the key to feeling empowered during a difficult birth. When I had my second baby, I chose Hypnobabies as my birthing method. Hypnobabies completely rocked my world, enhancing my ability to birth, parent and work within the birthing world. My experience utilizing childbirth hypnosis was quick (less than 2 hours), easy, and really quite comfortable. It was at that point that gave me the desire to show parents that birth can be awesome, and easier than they imagined.
I am a registered nurse with high risk labor and delivery experience, as well as critical care nursing. My expertise is navigating the medical system holistically, birth education, troubleshooting common pitfalls during pregnancy and birth, and helping women have a lower intervention, unmedicated birth. My education as a Hypnobabies Chilbirth Hypnosis Instructor has given me a distinct ability to calm or refocus parents during their birthing time and give them the ability to stay centered, more comfortable and confident in what the birthing parent's body is doing.
My philosophy is a combination of East meets West. I believe you can utilize both holistic and medical modalities to your advantage, without having to choose one over the other. I feel it is important to use holistic and medical models to compliment one another to add balance and comfort to your journey.

RN, BSN, CLC, HCHD, CD(DONA), Doula & Educator
I am a babywearing, cloth diapering, lactating parent of two children. I became a doula in 2009 following the birth of my first child. Having a doula at my birth had a profound effect on me and I wanted to be able to share that comfort and support with other birthing parents, regardless of their planned birthing location. Since my original training, I have supported many parents and families during their pregnancy, birth & postpartum as well as attaining other certifications to better serve birthing families of the Hudson Valley. I have always felt that pregnancy was a very special time of our lives and am blessed to be a part of so many families' experiences.
As one of the co-founders of Hudson River Doulas, I am a Registered Nurse with nearly ten years in perinatal healthcare experience including being a DONA Trained and Certified as a Birth Doula, and trained and previously certified as a Labor Doula through Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA). I am Hypnobabies Trained & Certified as a HypnoDoula and trained as a HypnoBirthing Doula. I have received specialized training in rebozo work, optimal fetal positioning, belly mapping, neonatal resuscitation, and lactation support. I have been a Certified Lactation Counselor since 2013 and am a member of the Mid-Hudson Lactation Consortium. I offer both private and group support for lactating, breastfeeding and chestfeeding parents. I am passionate about appropriate provision of LGBTQ+ healthcare services and addressing racial, socioeconomic, and gender-based healthcare disparities in our state.
I am a graduate of the French Culinary Institute International Culinary Center in New York City with a concentration in Baking & Pastry Arts. I hold a Bachelors in Community & Human Services with a concentration in Health Care Management from SUNY Empire and a Bachelors in the Science of Nursing from Dominican College of Blauvelt. While I work towards my MSN in Nurse-Midwifery at Frontier Nursing University to better serve our community, I continue to run our Baby group for both expectant and new parents with babies up to age two in Orange County and our Growing Families group at The LOFT LGBT Community Center in Westchester County, offer belly casting & belly mapping, private childbirth education, birth doula and postpartum doula services.
